HAVI Logistics Germany’s contract with a new customer KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) required the establishment of a new central warehouse. The site located in Rheinberg has been operational since the beginning of August. To start, 119 delivery points will be served by hubs and regional warehouses, with more to come. Thereby there was a need for a high quality load carrier, which supported the entire supply chain: easy and fast handling for the customers and HAVI, lower transport costs in reverse logistics and reliable quality over time were the most important criteria.
After analysing of the customer requirements and comparing the business benefits of different roll cage models, it was clear that the best fit was the Foldia®, the new generation of roll container with a symmetrical folding design and ergonomic plastic base. The new units help reduce manual handling at all stages of the supply chain both at HAVI Logistics and at their customers. Its very space-efficient design allows a 5:1 ratio when empty making it as space-efficient as the best-in-class demountable roll containers while ensuring an ergonomic solution without lifting nor demounting.
