Sustainability

K.Hartwall is committed to systematically advancing sustainability both in our own operations and throughout the value chain. Customer value, an ambitious climate agenda, a people-first approach, and strong ethical values are key drivers of our sustainability work.

A long-term commitment to sustainability

As a nearly 95 year-old family-owned company, we are guided by a long-term mindset and a strong sense of responsibility for future generations. From our earliest days, our success has been built by people – employees, partners and communities, who trusted us. Our sustainability commitment is to safeguard their wellbeing today and for the generations to come by acting responsibly, ethically and with purpose.

Today, K.Hartwall operates globally, partnering with leading brands on all main continents. Through our advanced intralogistics solutions, we enable more sustainable flow of goods, helping our customers reduce emissions, improve resource efficiency, and support safer, more ergonomic working environments.

At the same time, we recognise our responsibility to address the environmental footprint associated with our business and value chain. Our steel-based products and global supply chains have a significant environmental footprint. Advancing more sustainable solutions for the environment and for people is therefore a central focus of our sustainability journey.

At K.Hartwall, sustainability is an integral part of how we create value for our customers. As a family-owned company, we see sustainability above all as a long-term investment in the future, aligned with our values.

Shifting gears in sustainability

Over the past year, we have taken important steps toward a more ambitious and systematic approach to sustainability. In 2025, we laid the foundation for our climate agenda by mapping both our corporate carbon footprint and product-level emissions, and by setting clear targets for the years ahead. Alongside our climate work, we have defined a broader roadmap to guide our sustainability efforts going forward.
