The Boxing Academy is a sport-orientated social facility that specifically supports children and young people in Jenfeld. The educational concept is focussed on trainable skills that are encouraged and developed at fixed training times. The training sessions are aimed at children and youths between the ages of 10 and 17 and are always led by at least two coaches. This ensures that the training content is taught in small groups. The club concept also ensures that every training session takes place, which provides an important sense of security. In addition, the training is free of charge so that everyone has the opportunity to take part.

The aim of the boxing academy is for children and young people to learn to recognise their potential and exploit it positively. They learn regularity, continuity, attention and discipline – and develop their body awareness, self-confidence, personality and teamwork skills. All of this helps them to deal better with conflicts and aggression and to treat their fellow human beings with respect and decency. In this way, the trainers help with social integration in our society and reduce marginalisation in the long term.

‘The values that the trainers teach are incredibly important for the children and give them perspective,’ says Dr. Ralf Kleedörfer, Head of Automation at K.Hartwall.

The Boxing Academy exists since 2009 and its commitment goes beyond boxing training. For example, the team also offers holiday care and can therefore cater to the kids even better and show them opportunities outside the sports hall.

“This is the 10th Junior Sport Team that K.Hartwall is supporting in its JST sponsorship program. A project which is close to our heart. Our goal is to give back to the community wherever we can in each of the 65 countries where we sell our products. Our donations especially go to children for whom sport is not easily accessible due to physical, mental, or financial challenges. We hope that other companies will follow our example”, says Jerker Hartwall, CEO at K.Hartwall.
