Posti Group has selected K.Hartwall as the 2018 Supplier of the Year

The main theme for Posti’s Supplier Day this year was “Innovation” as the group has been working with suppliers to develop solutions to strengthen their operations and competitiveness in the future. One example is the Parcel cage that will be used in line hauls between sorting centres.

Posti Group purchase around 700 Million euros worth of products and services every year from 8,000 suppliers globally. That includes everything from vehicles to digital services and are a big part of Posti’s competitive edge today.

“Posti’s procurement has encouraged suppliers to develop new solutions that will help Posti to keep its position in a market getting more competitive every day. During last year’s Supplier Day we introduced an innovation competition and the winner is now clear. When evaluating the innovation proposals made during the year, K.Hartwall’s innovations in improving parcel operations received the best overall points,” says Markku Gerdt and Pasi Rintamaa from Posti procurement.

K.Hartwall has been working over the last two years to develop new products that will improve Posti’s parcel operations. One good example is the new Parcel Cage that will be used in line-hauls between sorting centres – the new design will reduce handling times, improve ergonomics and allow modularity with other handling equipment. K.Hartwall has also developed an asset management system Visimore® that will help customers like Posti to proactively manage their roll cage fleet, reducing losses and improving efficiency.

“We are of course delighted to receive Supplier of the Year award. It is a real acknowledgement for the cooperation and innovation K.Hartwall has been able to develop in close partnership with Posti Group. With parcel volumes growing and consumers looking for ever faster deliveries, operational efficiency is a large part of the competitiveness for any parcel operator and we are keen to support customers with these developments” says Eero Heinonen, Head of Business unit Postal & Logistics at K.Hartwall.
