Saudi Post reduces manual handling and improves ergonomics

The 4-sided Compactainer® was a firm choice for this purpose

Saudi Post (SPL) is a provider of logistics and postal services in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The vision of the company is to be the National Logistics Champion in postal and logistics solutions providing added value to customers and linking KSA to the world. SPL is going through a major transformation journey which includes building state of the art infrastructure, more efficient internal systems as well as creating solutions for tailored postal services. SPL employs over 8500 employees and has over 400 retail outlets throughout the Kingdom.

In January 2022 K.Hartwall participated in a tender proposal to provide roll containers to SPL. K.Hartwall and SPL worked collaboratively to come up with the optimal solution that met the needs of SPL and supported their strategic plans and growth aspirations. One critical USP for the chosen equipment was to find the best solution to improve handling and deliver operational efficiencies throughout their network.

The advantage of the 4-sided nestable roll container suggested by K.Hartwall was its safe working load of 450 kg as it directly contributed to reducing manual handling, improved ergonomics and space efficiency, as well as reducing product damage. Its tight mesh allows small items to be directly sorted into the cage and prevents loss which was also a contributing factor in this choice of container. The model suggested is a so-called H-frame Compactainer® offering the best nesting in its range. This feature provided SPL the maximum transport cubing efficiency as well.

K.Hartwall is also working alongside SPL’s RFID supplier to ensure that SPL can manage stock levels across the network.
